Mrs Beverlyn Owano
Mrs Beverlyn Owano is one of the Directors of Migingo Fish Supplies Ltd. She holds Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Psychology and a Diploma in Guidance and Counselling. She is currently the Head of Operations and Quality at Migingo Fish Supplies Ltd. Mrs Owano has over 15 years’ experience in the Fisheries sector having worked with fish processors and traders on the improved methods of processing of fish; training women fish traders on brining, drying, frying and packaging of fish; and assisting the women traders on certification of their products.
She is a hands on Quality Control Laboratory Technician having worked in an export fish processing plant assessing quality of fish by sampling and analyzing for the fish quality parameters. She has been instrumental in the growth of company by effectively taking the role of supervising and directing the personnel responsible in every stage of operations to ensure quality products; preparing cost estimates and budget required for the company in liaison with finance team; conducting cold room inspections to ensure the plant is operational and efficient; facilitating maintenance, repair or replacement of damaged equipment; overseeing the procurement of fish from the suppliers; and conduct negotiations with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure a fair bargain for goods and services.
